UPDATE May 10, 2021: Police have arrested DeRon Darby, 15, of the Hill District in fatal shooting of Isaiah Freeman on April 24, 2021.

Darby is charged with Involuntary Manslaughter, Firearms Not to be carried without a license, Possession of a Firearm by a Minor, and False Reports to Law Enforcement.

Pittsburgh Police from Zone 2 responded to 9-1-1 calls for shots fired in the 2400 block of Bedford Avenue at about 7:40 p.m.

When responding officers were arriving on scene they witnessed a gunshot victim being loaded into a private vehicle. Officers followed the vehicle to the hospital where the victim, a juvenile male, was later pronounced deceased.

Multiple people were taken to police headquarters for questioning.

Detectives with Major Crimes and the Crime Scene Unit are investigating.
