Fire, EMS, and Police Responded To a Tractor-Trailer Fire

Date: June 4, 2021
Incident Type: Vehicle Fire
Location: Zone 2
Summary:

Pittsburgh EMS, Fire and Police responded to the 00 block of 35th Street around 1 p.m. for a reported vehicle fire.

When fire fighters arrived, they observed the tractor-trailer fully engulfed in flames.

The building next to the truck sustained minor damage from the flames.

The driver was able to escape the truck on his own.

The fire started when the tractor-trailer made contact with a utility pole. That caused the pole to break, landing the wires onto the trailer.

There were no injuries and the investigation is ongoing.
