Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire responded to the 1000 block of Liberty Avenue around 9:35 p.m. for reported heavy smoke.
The hotel guest started evacuating prior to the arrival of Pittsburgh Firefighters. When Firefighters arrived, it was determined the fire was on the 24th floor. The high-rise plan was put in place, which elevated the call to a 3-alarm fire for more support.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the 24th floor, and was extinguished shortly after their arrival.
There were no injuries. The Fire Investigation Unit will determine the cause.
