Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire responded to a 2-alarm fire in an apartment building in the 100 block of Wabash Street around 10:25 p.m.
Firefighters managed to knock down the fire quickly and ensure that no residents were trapped inside any of the six units. Only five were occupied.
The Red Cross was contacted to provide assistance and temporary accommodations for seven adults and three children who were displaced. There were no injuries to residents or firefighters.
Two police officers from Zone 6 suffered minor smoke inhalation while assisting in evacuating residents from the building. Medics treated them on scene.
The exact cause of the fire is under investigation by the Fire Investigation Unit.
