Summary: The Pittsburgh Bureau of Police's Watch Commander was on a routine patrol in the Oakland and Squirrel Hill area around 1:40 a.m. when he observed a male climb the railing of the Panther Hollow Bridge in Schenley Park and appear ready to jump.

The Commander stopped and spoke to the male from inside his unmarked vehicle. The male was on top of the railing and teetering.

The Commander got out of his vehicle and asked the male if he would get off the railing and come talk to him. After hesitating, the male agreed to climb down and he walked over to the Commander.

The male told the Commander he was experiencing a multitude of issues. The Commander asked the male if he would agree to be evaluated at Western Psych. The male agreed and CMU police transported the male without incident.

No one was injured.
