Police Issue Warrant in Animal Cruelty Incident

Summary:

Following an animal cruelty complaint, Pittsburgh Police have issued an arrest warrant for Gerald Dewayne Walker, 23, of Pittsburgh. 

On November 20, 2021 officers from Zone 5 were called to the 1600 block of Broadhead Street for reports of a very ill-looking dog being kept outside. Responding units located an emaciated dog with untreated wounds, bald spots and ticks. There was no water or food provided for her. The dog did not respond to physical touch and was transported to an emergency veterinary clinic, where she died shortly after her arrival.  

Police spoke with the owner, Gerald Dewayne Walker on scene. 

Walker faces two felony charges of Aggravated Cruelty to Animals, one misdemeanor count and one summary count of Cruelty to Animals, and six counts of Neglect of Animals.
