Pittsburgh Bureau of Police officers responded to a call of a possible theft from vehicle in progress in the 200 block of Atwood Street in Oakland just before 7:15 a.m.
Responding officers from Zone 4 arrived on scene to learn the driver of a box truck had noticed a male hanging around his vehicle as he was delivering items to a store.
The driver told police he then observed the male jump into the back of the open truck in an apparent attempt to steal items. The driver then closed the door behind him, locking the male inside, and called police.
When police arrived they issued a summons for the male to appear in court at a later date to face possible theft from vehicle charges.
