UPDATE: The victim in this shooting has been pronounced deceased in the hospital.
Pittsburgh Police responded to the 2300 block of Brighton Road for a male shot in front of Oliver Citywide Academy at 1:45 p.m.
Responding units located a 15-year-old male with at least one gunshot wound to chest, who was shot from outside while he was sitting inside a school transport van. Medics transported him to the hospital in critical condition. No one else was injured. Only the victim and the male driver were inside the van at the time.
Detectives with Major Crimes and the Crime Scene Unit gathered evidence at the scene and are working closely with Pittsburgh Public School Police and school officials.
Police are searching for two suspects.
The investigation is ongoing.
