Update below in bold to include injury to a firefighter.
Firefighters with the Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire were called to a row house fire in the 300 block of Boggston Avenue just before 5 p.m.
The fire was first reported as a kitchen fire. When Police arrived on scene they saw visible flames at the back of one end of a 5-unit row house. They began evacuating residents from the apartments, a few of which were unoccupied.
One female was transported to the hospital by medics with burn injuries and smoke inhalation. One truck captain was taken to the hospital for debris in his eye. Firefighters kept the flames contained to the one unit.
The Fire Investigation Unit is investigating the cause of the fire.
