Police Arrest Man for Three Pittsburgh Bank Robberies

On Tuesday, February 8, 2022, Pittsburgh detectives and FBI agents arrested 68-year-old Calvin Leavy on Pride Street in Uptown for the robberies of three different Pittsburgh Banks.

The incidents include First National Bank on Forbes Avenue and PNC Bank on 5th Avenue both on January 31st, and First National Bank on 4th Avenue on February 8. 

Leavy faces multiple charges including three counts of Robbery, two counts of Theft. 

He is currently in the Allegheny County Jail. 

ORIGINAL ENTRY (February 8,2022): 

One person is in custody after a bank robbery downtown on Tuesday. 

At 9:16 a.m., police responded to a business on the 300 block of Fourth Avenue downtown for a reported robbery. 

The actor verbally indicated he had a gun and demanded money, though no weapon was visualized. 

He left the scene on a bus and police took him into custody in the Midtown area.

The investigation is still developing and charges are pending.
