One Person Killed in Fatal Shooting in Homewood

Summary:
At 1:55 p.m. on February 27, 2022, officers in Zone 5 responded to a one round Shotspotter alert in the 800 block of North Homewood Avenue.
Responding officers found one male victm with a gunshot wound on the ground near the corner of Frankstown Avenue and North Homewood Avenue.
The victim was unresponsvie and pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police secured the area with a perimeter and MCU responded and processed the scene.
The intersection of Frankstown and North Homewood was closed for several hours while detectives investigated. It has since reopened.
There is no suspect information at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
