Shortly before 5:30 p.m., Pittsburgh Police from Zone 3 were called to the 600 block of Curtis Street for a domestic call for a dispute between a male and a female. The male was armed with a gun and allegedly threatened the female with it.
SWAT and negotiators were called in after the male barricaded inside the residence with their two young children.
Negotiators made repeated attempts to contact and speak with the male by phone and via verbal hails over a loudspeaker. After more than two hours, police eventually spoke with him by phone and convinced him to come outside, where he surrendered without incident. The children were unharmed and evaluated by tactical paramedics on scene.
Charges are expected.
