UPDATE/CORRECTION Vehicle Stolen Outside Downtown Business Crashes into Construction Site, Suspect Arrested

UPDATE/CORRECTION: Kennedy Lyons, age 27, is the person arrested in this incident:

Just before 10:30 a.m. on March 31,, Zone 2 officers responded to 325 Sixth Avenue for reports of a vehicle stolen from the valet area outside of The Duquesne Club.

Responding officers tracked the vehicle as it traveled to the North Side and then back downtown where it eventually crashed through “Road Closed” signs at the intersection of Wood Street and Liberty Avenue, driving into a large construction hole set with rebar and filled with freshly poured concrete. The vehicle came to rest against a curb.

Port Authority officers and one Allegheny County Police officer on scene removed the male suspect from the vehicle and placed him in custody. He was evaluated at the hospital and then transported to Allegheny County jail.

Kennedy Lyons, 27, faces multiple charges.

The name Malik Johnson was erroneously added to this blotter entry as the person who was arrested.
