Just before 2:30 a.m., a Pittsburgh Police officer working a detail in the 1500 block of E. Carson Street heard several rounds fired and saw people running from an apparent exchange of gunfire between individuals who were on foot.

Multiple other officers were working in the vicinity at the time and located two male victims with gunshot wounds at the corner of S.15th and E. Carson Street. Medics transported them both in critical condition.

Three firearms were recovered, as well as multiple shell casings. The Mobile Crime Unit processed evidence at the scene. Computer Crimes will be reviewing all available video footage from the area.

Police detained one male and several witnesses were taken to Police Headquarters to be questioned.

Detectives from the Violent Crime Unit are investigating.
