SWAT Responded to Wanted Suspect Barricaded in Homewood

Summary:
Pittsburgh Police received information of a homicide suspect inside a Homewood apartment. When Zone 5 officers arrived on the 7300 block of Bennett Street, they were met by a witness who stated the male was still inside.
SWAT and Negotiators responded with the male possibly barricade inside. Officers gave multiple command for the male to exit the home with no response.
Shortly after midnight, SWAT made entry and Zahvair Palmer was taken into custody without incident. Medics evaluated him on scene.
Palmer had a warrant for his arrest involving the March 19 fatal shooting in South Side Slopes.
