Pittsburgh Police Arrest Juvenile With a Gun on South Side

Summary:
Pittsburgh Police from Zone 3 responded to the area of South 22nd Street and Sidney Street - Ormsby Pool - for reports of shots fired at approximately 3:30 p.m.
Arriving units spoke with witnesses who told them two groups of juveniles were involved in some type of altercation when a gun was spotted on one of the males.
Police were given a description of a male with a red hoodie who they quickly located nearby at S. 23rd St. and Wharton. While they were questioning him they found a loaded firearm with an extended clip hidden along the fence line at that location.
The juvenile was arrested at the scene.
Police have determined that no actual shots were fired in this incident. The pool was evacuated as a precaution.
The investigation is ongoing.
