Police Respond for Shots Fired in the Hill District, One Victim Pronounced at the Hospital

Summary:
Just before 2:45 p.m., Zone 2 officers responded to ShotSpotter alerts for nine shots fired in the 2400 block of Chauncey Drive.
Responding units located a male victim who was shot in the side. He was transported by medics to the hospital in critical condition where he was later pronounced deceased.
Two males were detained for questioning. Two firearms were recovered and three vehicles were struck by gunfire. The Mobile Crime Unit processed evidence at the scene.
Detectives from the Violent Crime Unit are investigating.
