Police, Fire, EMS & SWAT Respond to Man in Crisis in East Liberty

Summary:
At approximately 5:45 a.m. on July 5, officers responded to the 5800 block of Centre Avenue in Zone 5 for reports of a man climbing a crane in the area.
Negotiators worked tirelessly for over six hours to deliver the man to safety and provide help and services needed.
Unfortunately, just after noon, the man was pronounced deceased on location.
The City of Pittsburgh will be providing assistance to first responders and others who may have been on or nearby the scene.
