UPDATE/CORRECTION: The vehicle was originally reported as a Ford Focus, but it is a Ford Fusion. The vehicle was recovered by Pittsburgh Police on August 2 at 10:45 a.m.
Just before 3 a.m., Zone 6 officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Chartiers Avenue for a reported carjacking.
Responding units spoke with a male victim who told them he was working as a ride share driver called to pick up passengers at an address in that block.
When he arrived, he got out of the vehicle and four males wearing masks and all armed with weapons approached him. They proceeded to hold a gun to his head and rob him of his cash. The victim was otherwise unharmed and was not taken to the hospital.
The suspects then got in his white, 4-door, 2019 Ford Fusion and fled the area.
The investigation is ongoing.
