UPDATE: Police Investigate Business Break-ins, Vandalism in Shadyside

Michael Moffett was arrested by North Versailles Police on the evening of September 19, 2022.

He is a suspect in a string of recent burglaries in Lawrenceville and Shadyside. Moffett had four separate warrants for his arrest when he was taken into custody.

He is currently housed in the Allegheny County Jail.

Pittsburgh Police from Zone 4 are investigating a string of business burglaries and break-ins in Shadyside that occurred overnight from August 25 into August 26.

Three businesses in the 800 block of S. Aiken were either broken into or vandalized. Two of them had their glass front doors smashed and some items stolen, while the third had damage to the front door, but no entry was made.

One business in the 700 block of Copeland Street had its door shattered, items missing, and cash stolen from the register, while a fifth business in the 5400 block of Walnut Street also had its glass door broken and cash register drawer stolen.

Detectives are gathering all available video.

The investigation is ongoing.
