Vehicle Pulled From the Allegheny River, Body Recovered

Summary:

At around 12:45 p.m., Pittsburgh Police were dispatched to the North Shore Riverwalk near the Mister Rogers statue for reports of a vehicle submerged in the Allegheny River with the body of a male inside.

A film crew from the YouTube show 'Adventures with Purpose' out of Oregon, working with Chaos Divers, notified River Rescue after discovering the vehicle about 16 1/2 feet underwater and approximately 30 yards from the river bank.

Pittsburgh River Rescue, Police and Fire worked with the film crew's divers and McGann and Chester to remove the vehicle from the water. 

It was towed to the Auto Squad where the Medical Examiner's office would take custody of the body. Cause and manner of death, as well as identification of the deceased will be released by the ACME.

Major Crimes detectives are investigating.
