At approximately 10:30 p.m. on October 23, Pittsburgh Bureau of EMS and Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire responded to help a woman that fell approximately 20 feet over a hillside on East Sycamore Street.
The woman had been on a bicycle when her brakes failed. She hit a median before tumbling down the hill and becoming stuck.
Rescue 2, Medic 8 and 27 Engine responded to the scene.
The woman sustained multiple injuries, including one to her leg. She was conscious during the rescue.
First responders were able to utilize a backboard to lift her off the hill.
She was transported to a local hospital in serious but stable condition.
