Stolen Vehicle Crashes on the North Side, Police Arrest Driver

Summary:
Pittsburgh Police from Zone 6 were alerted to a stolen vehicle traveling northbound on Route 51 just after 12:30 p.m.
Officers pulled behind the vehicle with lights and sirens activated and attempted to make a traffic stop. The driver increased his speed and began weaving in out of traffic. Due to the driver's unsafe manner of travel, police terminated the pursuit before reaching the West End Bridge. The vehicle later crashed on the West End Bridge Ramp to Route 65.
The male driver ran from the vehicle and was arrested near the Science Center. Charges are pending.
The rental vehicle, a white Nissan Rogue, had been reported stolen from North Shore Drive near Acrisure Stadium on the afternoon of October 30.
