Police and EMS Respond to Woman Shot in Homewood South

Summary:
Pittsburgh Police responded to a 7-round Shotspotter alert for the 700 block of Brushton Avenue around 3:05 a.m.
Responding Zone 5 officers located an adult female with gunshot wounds to the abdomen and leg.
Officers applied a tourniquet to the victim prior to the arrival of Pittsburgh EMS. Medics transported the victim to a local hospital in critical condition.
Witnesses reported a fight between the two females before shots were fired. Police detained one female nearby.
The Mobile Crime Unit processed the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
