UPDATE: Police Investigate After Juvenile Female Shot in Homewood

Summary:

UPDATE: Police have arrested two people in connection with the December 5, 2022 shooting that critically injured a juvenile female in the 7000 block of Frankstown Avenue.

Raymur Sicklesmith, 16, of Homewood is charged with Aggravated Assault, Criminal Conspiracy, Criminal Attempt Homicide, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Firearms Not to be Carried Without a License, and Possession of a Firearm by a Minor.

James Acklin, 16,of Duquesne, PA is charged with Aggravated Assault, Criminal Conspiracy, Criminal Solicitation, Criminal Attempt Homicide, and Recklessly Endangering Another Person.

Both are charged as adults under Act 33 and are being held in Allegheny County Jail.

Original incident details:

At approximately 3 p.m., Pittsburgh Police from Zone 5 were dispatched for a four round ShotSpotter alert in the area of Frankstown Avenue and N. Lang Avenue. 

Responding units located a female victim with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Pittsburgh EMS transported her to the hospital in critical condition.

A person of interest was detained for questioning. 

SWAT also responded to a nearby residence in relation to this investigation. A protective sweep of the structure determined there were no occupants inside. 

The Mobile Crime Unit processed evidence. Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating.
