Around approximately 11 a.m. on December 11, Pittsburgh Bureau of EMS, Pittsburgh Bureau of Police and Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire responded to an area near Duck Hollow Trail after a male on a bicycle fell approximately 25 feet from a cliff side onto gravel surrounding train tracks below.
Rail service was shut down while the rescue was underway.
Rescue 1, Medic 7, Unit 21, 502, and Rescue 2 all responded to the scene. Responders were successfully able to get the patient into the back of Medic 21.
River Rescue was also on standby.
Medic 5 transported the victim to a local hospital with a broken clavicle and possible lower back injury in stable condition.
