Date: January 3, 2023
Incident Type: Arrest
Location: Zone 6
Summary:

Pittsburgh Police from Zone 6 were dispatched to the 500 block of Brookline Blvd. just before 4 a.m for a domestic-related incident involving a male and a female.

When responding units arrived, the male party was inside a vehicle and officers surrounded it on foot. The male reversed the vehicle, striking a police cruiser and causing an officer to jump out of the way to avoid being struck. In the process, the officer hit her head on a curb. She was transported to the hospital by medics in stable condition with neck and wrist pain.

The suspect vehicle then hit another vehicle before fleeing the area. He later wrecked the car at the bottom of Pioneer Avenue and ran through a wooded area on foot. Officers caught up with him near London Towne Rd., where he was taken into custody.

The Mobile Crime Unit was called to process the scene. Zone 3 units assisted with the call.

The male was transported for alcohol testing. Multiple charges are expected.
