Arrest Update/Correction/Update: Police, Fire and EMS Respond for Pedestrians Hit by Vehicle  in East Hills

Summary:

Arrest Update: Mia Patterson, 35, was arrested and charged with numerous counts of aggravated assault, aggravated assault by vehicle, accidents involving death or personal injury, recklessly endangering another person, failing to stop and render aid, and driving offenses.

Patterson is being held in Allegheny County Jail.

Correction/Update: Initial information was that one male was taken to the hospital. That was incorrect. All of the victims are female.

Original post: 

At 2:51 a.m. Pittsburgh Police from Zone 5 were called to Frankstown Avenue and Oakwood Street for reports of multiple people struck by a vehicle.

Responding units located two female victims on the ground. Both were transported to the hospital by medics in critical condition, but were later upgraded to stable condition. A third female, was also struck and received non life-threatening injuries. She refused treatment by medics.

The initial investigation shows that an altercation between a group of people occurred in a parking lot outside of a bar, after which a female reportedly got into an SUV and struck two vehicles before hitting the victims and fleeing the area.

Wilkinsburg PD pulled the suspect vehicle over in their jurisdiction and detained the driver. PIttsburgh Police took her into custody. She was also transported to the hospital to be evaluated for injuries.

The Collision Investigation Unit arrived at the scene to investigate. 

The investigation is ongoing.
