UPDATED: Police Investigate After Teen Shot in Zone 6

Summary:

NOTE: The victim's age was originally reported as 17, but was later determined to be 16 years old. 
 

At approximately 7:45 p.m., Zone 6 units responded to a home on the 2500 block of Woodward Avenue for reports of a person shot. 

Arriving units found a teenage male suffering from three gunshot wounds inside the home. Officers applied tourniquets to slow the bleeding. EMS transported him to the hospital in critical condition where he was rushed into surgery. 

Fire also responded.

Two male actors were seen running from the home and leaving in a vehicle at the time of the shooting. 

A short time later, an officer recognized the vehicle and performed a felony stop nearby. Two people were taken into custody in relation to the investigation. 

The Mobile Crime Unit processed the scene and VCU is investigating.
