UPDATE: Pittsburgh Police, EMS, Fire Respond to Shooting Outside Westinghouse Academy

Pittsburgh Police announced two arrests in the February 14, 2023 shooting incident that injured four people outside Westinghouse Academy.

James Pritchard, 17, faces multiple charges including aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, criminal conspiracy and possession of a firearm by a minor.

Pritchard is charged as an adult under Act 33.

A 14-year-old male was also arrested and charged as a juvenile. He faces similar charges.

Pittsburgh Police would like to thank patrol officers, VCU detectives, the Fugitive Apprehension Unit, and our local law enforcement partners for their hard work in securing these arrests.

Original incident details:

Just before 2:25 p.m., Pittsburgh Police from Zone 5 responded to a 10 round ShotSpotter alert outside of Westinghouse Academy in the 1100 block of N. Murtland Street.

Arriving units were on scene in just over one minute to quickly locate three juvenile gunshot victims. Pittsburgh EMS Medic units 5, 11, and 12 transported three victims to the hospital. A fourth victim was taken to the hospital via private means.

The three males - two 15-year-olds and one age 17-  and one 15-year-old female are all listed in stable condition. They are all students at the school. No one else was injured.

Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating.There is no suspect information or arrests at this time and the investigation is active and ongoing.
