Police, Fire, EMS Respond for Collision Involving Pittsburgh EMS Medic Unit

Summary:

Pittsburgh Police, EMS, and Fire responded for a collision between a Pittsburgh EMS medic unit and a vehicle at the intersection of Oakwood Street at Bennett just before 2 p.m. 

Arriving units located Medic 45 flipped on its side. The ambulance driver, an EMT, was extricated from the vehicle by EMS personnel from Rescue 1 and 2. The patient was transported to the hospital in stable condition with hand and pelvic injuries.

The two other EMTs were able to exit the ambulance on their own and were taken to the hospital for evaluation.

The passenger in the other vehicle was also transported to the hospital by medics in stable condition. The driver was uninjured.

The ambulance was responding to a call at the time of the collision. 

The Collision Investigation Unit has responded to investigate.
