UPDATE 2: 

Lukas Kislak, of Braddock, was located on Penn Avenue after the shooting and taken into custody. He was arrested and transported to the ACJ. 

Kislak is charged with Criminal Homicide, Discharge of a Firearm into an Occupied Structure, and other firearm-related charges. 

UPDATE 1: 

Male victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital. 

ORIGINAL STORY:

Beginning at approximately 2:35 p.m., officers in Zone 5 responded to several Shotspotter alerts in the area of Corday Way and Pearl Street. 

Police, Fire and EMS responded and found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. 

EMS transported him to a local hospital in critical condition.

A nearby house also sustained some damage from bullets and casings were located at the scene.  

One person was taken into custody and a firearm was recovered. 

VCU is investigating.
