UPDATE: Jamier Perry, 15 years old, has been arrested for the murder of Derrick Harris, 15, for the shooting that occurred in front of Oliver Citywide Academy. Perry has been charged with Criminal Homicide, Possession of Firearm by Minor, and Firearms not to be Carried without a License, as an adult pursuant to ACT 33 guidelines. He was transported to the Allegheny County Jail.  

At approximately 0725 hrs. Pittsburgh Police Zone 1 Units responded for multiple shotspotters totalling 11 rounds.   Upon their arrival they found a victim shot multiple times outside Oliver Citywide Academy's front entrance.   Officers administered CPR and first aid and requested medics.   Zone 1 Officers also spotted a male running from scene with a firearm.  That male armed with a firearm was taken into custody without further incident and a firearm was recovered.    The victim was transported to local hospital in critical condition but later died at the hospital.  The suspect was transported to Headquarters.  The victim and suspect were both juveniles were current students at Oliver Academy.   This investigation is ongoing and updates will forthcoming.
