CORRECTION: The Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire would like to amend incorrect information it provided about the following incident.
This fire occurred in the production greenhouse used for orchid cultivation, not in the Orchid Room.
There was no damage to plant material as previously reported.

On Friday, June 9, Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire responded for a 1-alarm fire in the 700 block of Frank Curto Drive just before 9:30 p.m.
The origin of the fire was determined to be in the Orchid Room of the Phipps Conservatory.
No civilians or firefighters were injured.
There was damage to some rare/priceless plants, but the estimated cost of the damage is not known.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
