Police Investigate Homicide on Federal StreetÂ

Summary:
Pittsburgh Police from Zone 1 responded for reports of a male shot on Federal Street at W. North Avenue at approximately 7 a.m.
Arriving units located a male victim down on the street. He had been shot in the back while riding his bike. He was transported to the hospital in critical condition where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.
The initial investigation shows the victim had a brief exchange with a male suspect who was on foot moments before he was shot.
The Mobile Crime Unit and Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating.
