Police Officer Injured Following Foot Pursuit of a Possible Suspect with a Gun

Summary:
Before 5:30 p.m. police from Zone 2 received a 9-1-1 call from a man who said he was threatened by a male with a gun at Stanwix Street and Liberty Avenue.
The caller provided a detailed description of the possible actor and officers in the area spotted someone matching the description who ran from them when they approached.
An officer was injured on some stairs during a short foot pursuit. He received multiple injuries to his legs and face. Medics responded to the scene. Police lost sight of the suspect at Stanwix and Blvd. of the Allies.
The investigation into the reported incident is ongoing.
