Pittsburgh EMS, Fire, and Police Respond for Serious Single Vehicle Crash in the Strip District

Summary:
At approximately 11:30 p.m. on July 8, Pittsburgh Bureau of EMS (Medic 14, Rescue 2 & Unit 502) , along with Police and Fire, responded to 16th St. and Liberty Ave. for a single vehicle collision into a pole.
Upon arrival, units observed a vehicle with significant damage and one person entrapped.
EMS Rescue 1 and additional medic units 2 and 4 also arrived on scene as crews worked to stabilize the male passenger while he remained trapped inside the vehicle.
The patient was successfully extricated and transported to the hospital in stable condition.
The driver of the vehicle fled the area before responding units arrived.
Police are investigating.
