Just after 2 a.m., police from Zone 5 responded to reports of a carjacking at Kedron Street and Sterrett Street.
Officers spoke with a male Uber driver who told police he picked up two males and drove them to their destination where they forced him out of his vehicle at gunpoint and drove off. The driver was unhurt.
Police pursued the vehicle into Penn Hills, which eventually went up onto a high curb and crashed against a light pole. The driver and passenger bailed out of the vehicle and were both quickly apprehended by Pittsburgh Police K9 units.
One of the K9s also located the discarded gun, which turned out to be a bb gun.
Both males, one juvenile and one adult, were arrested and face multiple charges.
