Police, Fire, EMS Respond for East Liberty Collision, Pedestrian Injured

Summary:
Just before 1:30 p.m., Police, Fire, and EMS responded to the 6300 block of Penn Avenue for a vehicle that had accelerated across the intersection, lost control, and struck a pedestrian on the sidewalk.
EMS transported the female victim to the hospital in critical condition, where she was later upgraded to stable.
The elderly driver of the vehicle was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
The Collision Investigation Unit responded to the scene to investigate.
