At 2 a.m., Pittsburgh Police from Zone 5 were dispatched to the 6300 block of Dean Street for a 17-round ShotSpotter notification, followed by a 9-1-1 call, for a person shot.
Arriving units located a 35-year-old male victim on the first floor of a residence with a gunshot wound to the neck. He was alert and talking to police. EMS transported him to the hospital in stable condition. The three other occupants of the home, including two children, were unhurt.
The Mobile Crime Unit responded to process evidence. Several shell casings were recovered at the scene and there was additional damage to the house from gunfire.
A witness described a possible suspect fleeing the area on foot carrying a backpack.
