Just before 12:15 a.m, Pittsburgh Police, Fire, EMS responded to East Liberty Blvd. and Larimer Ave. for a collision between a car and a van.
When first responders arrived on scene the occupants of both vehicles had self-extricated.
The car sustained heavy damage and caught fire. There were four occupants inside. Three of them were transported to the hospital, while one passenger walked away and refused to speak with police or receive medical attention.
The van rolled on its side and the driver was the sole occupant.
Medics units transported four patients to the hospital, two of them in critical condition.
The Collision Investigation Unit is investigating the exact cause of the crash.
