At 4 p.m., Pittsburgh Police from Zone 6 were called to the intersection of Beechview Avenue and Broadway Avenue for reports of an adult male shot.
Arriving units located the victim, who is in his early 20s, on a grassy area adjacent to the sidewalk.
He was transported to the hospital by medics in critical condition.
A male stayed at the scene and surrendered to police. He was transported to headquarters for questioning along with two witnesses.
Violent Crime Unit detectives responded to investigate. One firearm was recovered.
The investigation is ongoing.
