Just before 11:00 p.m. on September 5, the Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire responded to a residential structure fire in the 1500 block of Buena Vista Street in the Central Northside neighborhood.
A transformer on a utility pole next to the residence exploded sending flaming debris onto the roof of the home. The debris ignited the roof and began to extend into the interior of the residence.
No injuries were reported.
Duquesne Light worked to restore electricity to the area. The Red Cross was notified and arrived on the scene to assist the residents.
Police and EMS also responded to the scene.
