At approximately 2:30 a.m., officers on patrol in a marked vehicle in the 1500 block of E.Carson were flagged down by a male who stated he observed a female being followed by a male with a gun on Roland Way.

Officers parked their vehicle and approached Roland Way on foot where they observed a male and female arguing. The male then raised his arm in the air and fired one round from a handgun.

Officers gave verbal commands for the male to drop the gun, to which he did not initially respond, but eventually complied with verbal commands to put his hands up. He was placed into custody and a handgun was recovered from his waistband.

Ricco Tate, 23, of McKees Rocks, PA  is charged with Terroristic Threats/ Discharging Firearm, Possession of a Firearm With an Altered Manufacturer's Number, Simple Assault, and Recklessly Endangering Another Person.

He was transported to the Allegheny County Jail.
