Just before 10:30 a.m., Pittsburgh EMS, Fire, and Police were dispatched to Saw Mill Run Boulevard (PA Route 51) near the intersection with W Warrington Avenue for reports of a motorcycle collision.
Arriving EMS units located the adult male patient in the adjacent creek bed, over 100 feet from where his motorcycle struck the guardrail.
He was extricated to the road by crews from the EMS Rescue trucks, assisted by firefighters from Engine 28.
The patient was unresponsive and sustained serious injuries to his lower extremities. He received advanced life support, including whole blood in the field. Medic 8 transported him in life-threatening condition.
The Collision Investigation Unit responded to the scene to investigate.
