Just after 11 a.m., Pittsburgh Police from Zone 5 received a 9-1-1 call for an individual who had been shot in the chest in the 2300 block of East Hills Drive.
Detectives already working in the area located the male within minutes and rendered aid until medics could transport him to the hospital in critical condition.
The Mobile Crime Unit responded to process evidence. One firearm was recovered at the scene and a female was questioned at police headquarters.
Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating.
