Police Investigate Shooting in East Liberty

At approximately 7:45 p.m., Pittsburgh Police from Zone 5 were dispatched to the 6100 block of Station Street for reports of a shot fired.

A 31-year-old male victim suffered a gunshot wound to his leg. The victim, a security guard at a local facility, was working when he noticed several juvenile actors attempting to break into vehicles in the adjacent parking lot. He sustained his injury as he approached them.

He was alert, conscious, and speaking with officers. Medics transported him to the hospital in stable condition.

The Mobile Crime Unit was called to process evidence at the scene. The Violent Crime Unit also responded.

The investigation is ongoing.
