Police, EMS, and Fire Respond to Upper Hill/North Oakland Collision, Scooter Rider Injured

Summary:
Pittsburgh Police from Zone 2 responded to the intersection of Bigelow Boulevard and North Dithridge Street at approximately 7:30 p.m. for reports of a scooter rider struck by a vehicle.
Arriving officers located an adult male victim in the intersection with a head injury. He was transported by Medic 5 in serious, but stable condition.
The victim was riding his privately-owned scooter on Bigelow Boulevard heading northbound. The adult male driver of the vehicle was driving southbound on Bigelow Boulevard and was attempting to turn onto North Dithridge when he struck the scooter rider.
The driver of the vehicle stayed on the scene and was cooperative with officers.
The Collision Investigation Unit responded to the scene to investigate.
