Just before 12:00 p.m., Pittsburgh Police from Zone 1 responded to several ShotSpotter alerts and reports for shots fired in the area of Chester Avenue/Holyoke Street/Elsdon Street.
No victims were located upon the arrival of officers, but thirty-nine shell casings were found. Witnesses describe potentially six individuals, possibly juveniles, who were involved. All of them fled the area on foot.
Three residences sustained damage from the bullets—in the 500 block of Chester Avenue, 2300 block of Holyoke Street, and 500 block of Elsdon Street.
Evidence was collected from the scene and the investigation in ongoing.
