At approximately 6:40 a.m., Pittsburgh Police Violent Crime Unit detectives responded to the Greyhound Bus station located at 55 11th Street Downtown.
The initial investigation shows there was an altercation between two males on board a Greyhound bus that continued outside the bus on the concourse of the station.
Agents with the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General were in the vicinity and witnessed one male threatening the other with a knife, actively trying to stab him. They verbally engaged the actor who refused to drop the knife.
In an effort to stop the threat, two agents discharged their duty weapons, striking the suspect in the chest and stomach. Pittsburgh EMS transported him to the hospital in critical condition where he was taken into surgery.
The other male struck his head on the ground during the incident. Medics transported him in stable condition for further evaluation.
Mobile Crime Unit detectives processed evidence at the scene and detectives interviewed the bus driver, passengers, and any other potential witnesses.
The investigation is ongoing.
